How Dental Implants Work
Unlike bridges or removable dentures, which sit on top of the gums, dental implants are placed under the gums. The “tooth” placed on an implant appears life-like because it comes through the gums just like the original did! Implants can be used to replace any number of lost teeth. Even people with no teeth can benefit from implants because they can replace their dentures with teeth that don’t move around when they talk and don’t need to be taken out at night. Because we handle the entire process from dental implant placement to crown fabrication, there’s no need to be referred to another office.
Overdentures – No More Messy Denture Adhesives!
Some of the challenges faced by denture wearers include the need to secure the denture with adhesives, which can still allow their teeth to slip, tilt or slide while eating. This can be a major inconvenience. But now, at Sunlight Dental, we offer our denture patients an alternative – overdentures.
With the use of just a few dental implants to support the dentures, your teeth will be “locked” into place so they won’t move. Yet they easily snap off for cleaning. Say goodbye to messy creams! Ask us if you are a candidate for overdentures.
Immediate Load Implants
In addition to traditional implants, we also offer our patients All-on-4™ immediate load implants. With this option, you typically only need four implants that screw the denture (fixed hybrid) in place. We work with a local oral surgeon in order to deliver the highest quality screwed in dentures.
